Use AI for things you want to try out quickly, for example a first draft or a test page for an idea. If the site is meant for your clients, and you expect enquiries or purchases from it, it needs at least an expert review, because AI repeats familiar patterns and does not know what matters to your audience.
1. The two side by side
| Aspect | An AI tool on its own | With a designer or a review |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | A working version within minutes or hours. | More time, in return for well-considered decisions. |
| Copy | Generic headlines that could be true of any company. | Copy tailored to your offer and your audience. |
| Structure | Follows familiar patterns, even when your visitors are looking for something else. | Shaped around the questions of your visitors and your goals. |
| Consistency | Solutions that differ screen by screen, as the prompts change. | One system in which every element works the same way. |
| Checking | You spot the mistakes, or your clients do. | We go through it on desktop and mobile before launch. |
2. Which one to choose
AI is enough if
- you are testing an idea before putting money into it
- you are building an internal tool used only by your team
- you need a first draft for a designer to develop further
- you are building it for your own learning, with no clients involved
You need a designer or a review if
- you expect enquiries or purchases from the site
- the look of your brand is part of what is at stake
- you are about to launch and do not know what you have missed
- your team will keep building on the AI-made work
3. The third route, a review
If you have already built the site with AI, there is no need to start over. We review it and show you what in the design and the copy would put your visitors off.
With the full review you receive a ranked list of issues with screenshots, and instructions that let you make the fixes in your own AI tool too. This way you keep the speed, and the mistakes never reach your clients.
If you would like us to make the fixes as well, at the review and fix level we also create the corrected screen designs for desktop and mobile, together with the rewritten copy.
4. If you already have an AI draft
An AI-made draft is a good starting point for working with a designer too. It shows what you have in mind, and saves a lot of time in the first discussions.
- Send the draft, and note what you like in it and what you are unsure about.
- Write down who the site is for, and the most important step you expect from them.
- Mark which parts are fixed, for example an existing logo or a piece of copy you want to keep.
- Ask the designer what they would keep from it, and what they would rebuild.
This way the design does not start from zero, and the finished interface keeps the good ideas of the draft as well.
5. What AI most often leaves out
- The specific offer, because the headline is usually something that could be true of any company.
- The elements that build trust, for example case studies and clear contact details.
- Fine-tuning for mobile, where buttons and text are often too small.
- A consistent system, because every new prompt brings a slightly different solution.
None of these shows at a quick glance, and the AI does not flag them either, because it does not look at its own work through the eyes of your clients. An outside eye finds most of them on the first click-through.
6. Frequently asked questions
Can I use an AI-made site live?
Yes, many sites start this way. Before launch it is worth having it reviewed, because some mistakes are only noticed by someone looking from outside, through the eyes of a visitor.
What kind of AI-made work do you review?
Any kind, from sites built with Lovable, Bolt or v0 to copy written with ChatGPT. A link or a few screenshots are enough for the review.
What is the smallest first step?
The quick review. In a joint session we go through your website or app, and show you right there what puts your visitors off.
What should I do if the review finds a lot to fix?
The list of issues is ordered by importance, so you can start with the points that have the most impact. If the fixes affect the structure too, at the review and fix level we also create the corrected screens.
Do you review AI-made brand identities too?
Yes. We check whether the logo works at small sizes and in a single colour, and whether the colours and typefaces form a consistent system across your touchpoints.
