1. What these tools do
All three tools write code based on your description. Lovable and Bolt put together a complete app, database and login included, while v0 is Vercel's tool for building React-based interfaces and components.
What they have in common is that they follow familiar patterns. That gives you a quick start, and it also means your site resembles many other AI-built sites, while the important decisions, such as what goes into the headline, are still yours to make.
2. Copy and message
The most common mistake is the headline. AI writes a sentence that could be true of any company, and in the first few seconds visitors do not learn what you are offering them.
- Read the headline as if you did not know the company, and see whether it tells you what is on offer and for whom.
- Check that the button labels name the next step, such as “Book an appointment” or “Request a quote”.
- Look for overly generic words such as “innovative” or “solution”, and replace them with something concrete.
- See whether every section answers a question your visitor would ask.
3. Structure and navigation
AI-built sites often stack many sections on top of each other, because something was added with every prompt. It is worth going through the page asking which section is needed for the decision and which one only takes up space.
- Have one main button, with the same goal at several points on the page.
- Write the menu items in your visitor's language and leave your internal names out.
- Put references and trust-building elements close to the button.
- Leave no link or button that leads nowhere.
4. Mobile and appearance
Many people only look at the mobile view at the end, although a good share of visitors arrive on their phones. On a small screen the AI-generated layout is often too crowded, and the buttons are too small to tap comfortably.
Look at the site on a real phone too, and click through the main path. If you have to press a button twice or zoom in to read the text, your clients will run into the same thing.
Pay attention to consistency as well. If you asked for several screens separately while prompting, the buttons or font sizes can easily differ from page to page, and that makes the site look cobbled together.
5. Forms and functionality
Forms are the most delicate points, because this is where it is decided whether a visitor becomes an enquiry.
- Submit a test form and check that it arrives where it should.
- Try it with wrong data too, and see whether the error message is clear.
- Check that a confirmation or a thank-you page appears after submitting.
- If the site uses a database, have a developer check that the access permissions are set correctly.
6. Search engines and sharing
Check that every page has its own title and description, because these show up in Google results and under shared links. AI often leaves them empty or writes the same text on every page.
It is worth checking the share image as well. If you send a link to someone and an empty frame or the tool's own logo shows up under it, the first impression suffers before the page is even opened.
7. Speed and images
AI tools often put high-resolution images on the page and load more fonts than needed. On a computer this barely shows, but on mobile internet the page appears slowly, and some visitors do not wait for it.
With Google PageSpeed Insights you can check in a few minutes how fast your site is on mobile and what slows it down. The most common fixes are compressing the images and dropping unnecessary fonts, and you can ask for both in your own AI tool.
Once the site is fast, go round once more with the browsers. Open it in Safari and in Chrome, because an animation or a font can behave differently in the two.
8. Who to show it to first
Before launch, show the site to a few people from your target audience who have not seen it yet. Give them a task, such as booking an appointment or finding the prices, and watch where they get stuck.
Do not help them in the meantime, and do not explain where things are. Every question they ask marks a point on the site where a real visitor would be left on their own.
9. If you want it reviewed
Our AI review is built on these points. In the quick review we go through the site together in one session, and in the full audit you get a ranked list of issues with screenshots, along with instructions you can use to carry out the fixes in your own AI tool.
