Take the quizGIKU is a teammate finder platform for video games, where players find teammates of the same level for 200+ games on every platform through stat-based search (K/D, win rate, matches played, hours). Behind the interface is an extremely complex system of gamer profiles, lobbies, a custom points system, an achievement-hunting feature and a community layer. Our task was to design GIKU’s complete product experience with a product design and UX/UI mindset, so that this many-layered system stays simple, fast and enjoyable for users.
The biggest challenge was handling complexity. A teammate finder only works if a search takes a few clicks, while plenty of data, parameters and features are working in the background.
We had to serve both the casual player quickly looking for a co-op partner and the serious competitive player for whom every number counts. Profiles, lobbies, the points system, achievements and the community feed each follow their own logic, and we had to organise them into one consistent, easy-to-learn interface, for a demanding, fast-reacting gamer audience who notice immediately when an interface is slow or clunky.
The goal was a UX that makes the many features clear and takes search through with as little friction as possible. The material shown here is only a fraction of the system.
